Claire French

I take your career seriously and I have some serious value and insight to share.

My Passion

People and their careers are my focus.

From the different skills we have, our different likes and dislikes, the way we think and approach situations, to what gives us joy and makes us happy. All these factors come together to not only make us the people we are but play an important part when choosing our career pathway and a job we resonate with.

When I was at school, I remember being asked at my careers interview, “what did I want to do?” My answer, “I want to work with and help people”.

Over 25 years later, I look back and that is exactly what I have done. Support people to achieve their careers and fulfill their potential.

Experience

With over 20 years in recruitment, leadership, coaching and
business development, it would be fair to say, supporting people to achieve their potential and align their skills and interests with their career, is my passion. Having built a credible and substantial business in the UK and New Zealand, I understand what it takes to turn a blank piece of paper into a successful business. My insight has benefited further from working with a wide range of international clients. Currently based in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Credibility

I don’t want to just talk the talk, I walk the walk, so I have

gone back to school. I am a member and Certified Coach  with the ICF (International Coaching Federation), I am continuing my personal development through the New Zealand Institute of Business Studies and upskilling with the ICF to achieve my Coaching Accreditation (ACC).

Paying forward with

My volunteer role at Dress for Success, as a Careers Coordinator enables me to share my services and knowledge with Women across my local region. Claire was integral in my gaining confidence in updating my CV for presenting to agents and applying for legal roles. Her pragmatic approach was invaluable, noting suggested changes on my draft CV, taking the time to explain the reasons, all-the-while providing up-to-date advice on what companies are looking for in this day and age, and how to stand out from the crowd. She also provided some interview advice, which was a great refresher and helped me prepare for the interview phase.

Shortly after our meeting, Claire emailed me the CV template we had been talking about which I relied on heavily in reformatting my CV. The time and effort it took to revise and update my CV with Claire’s assistance, paid off dividends as it was only the following week I landed an interview with a specialist law firm and was offered the role the following day.

I can’t express how grateful I am to Claire as well and the Dress for Success team for their input into “rebooting” my career.”
